Our handcrafted, sustainable jewellery is made from the extraordinary tagua seed, a natural wonder from Ecuador's forests.
Known as "vegetable ivory," tagua is a beautiful, eco-friendly alternative to elephant ivory, inspiring our name, 'The Happy Elephant'. Each piece is carefully shaped, polished, and dyed.
Express your individuality and enhance your everyday style with stunning tagua jewellery, transforming ordinary outfits into extraordinary ones, sparking joy and confidence.

About Us
Our Story
Paddington left South America for Britain. We did it the other way around! In 2015 we left Britain to live in Ecuador, South America.
We are Alison, my husband Mark and our children Bethan & Euan Williams - an ordinary family who decided to do something a little out of the ordinary. We wanted an adventure, to see new places, meet new people and learn a new language. So we moved to Ecuador and learned Spanish. We enjoyed being involved in a voluntary work and made many lifelong friends.
While in Ecuador I fell in love with tagua nut jewellery - I loved its beautiful colours, feel and fascinating story . I would bring it as gifts for family and friends on visits back to the UK. When we moved back in 2020 we decided to share a slice of Ecuador with you - in the form of tagua nut jewellery! It's great to see others love it just as much as I do. And no wonder as it really is a gift from nature!
