Johnny Vegas Meets The Happy Elephant!

There was a flurry of excitement at St Albans Market recently when the actor, comedian, writer and ceramicist, Johnny Vegas dropped by!  Evidently he was filming in the area. When he came up to our stall, Alison got busy explaining about tagua and its amazing story to him but she had no idea who he was!

When Johnny left, I explained to Alison that he was the actor who played the character Krook in the 2005 production of Bleak House by Charles Dickens. So without any hesitation Alison ran off to say hello because as a family we love Bleak House and often quote some of Krook's lines. Johnny told Alison he would return to have a chat and sure enough he kept his word.

What a really down to earth guy Johnny is; turns out he is from St Helens which is just down the road from where I (Mark) was brought up.  He was very easy to talk to and he even bought some tagua jewellery for a friend. We hope you like the photo of us with Johnny in the middle.  And we hope your friend liked her tagua necklace Johnny!
